If you’re not doing the three peaks challenge and not feeling energetic enough to climb a mountain on foot, but fancy a nice day out in the mountains with the family, check out the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
The train starts at Lanberis Station (LL55 4TY for your sat nav) and takes you all the way to the summit passing viaducts and valleys along the way. The views along the way are stunning and on a clear day, at the summit you can see as far as the Wicklow mountains in Ireland and the Isle of Man.
The summit will also greet you with the Summit Visitor Centre. This new building opened in 2009 and offers spectacular views through it’s panaramic windows looking over the Snowdonia range. It houses a licensed cafe and gift shop.
